St Peters Exercise Helps Cope with Pain and Aging
"If you don't keep going, you're gonna die." Now, there’s a title to a research paper! Old Mill Chiropractic was even startled a bit, but it is true. No matter your age, your pain, your life plan, we all have to keep going forward! This is so true for middle- to older-age St Peters back and neck pain sufferers. Luckily, Old Mill Chiropractic is here to help.
ANTI-AGING EXERCISE BENEFITS
We all start considering anti-aging benefits at a certain age! One set of researchers wrote that regular exercise has multi-system anti-aging effects and recommended more research to gather knowledge of just how molecular mediators of exercise benefits work in older folks instead of just looking for pharmaceuticals. (1) Old Mill Chiropractic enthusiastically agrees! Walking is great! This an important message for all St Peters pain sufferers!
BENEFICIAL DAILY EXERCISE STEPS
Walk each day with a goal of 7000 steps. Why? Research. 2,110 black and white men and women and their steps-per-day counts were followed. They wore an accelerometer from 2005 to 2006 and then were followed for a mean of 10.8 years. Their stats were examined in 2020 and 2021 to measure what, if any, association was found between steps-per-day and all-mortality death risk. This study was part of the larger CARDIA (Coronary Artery Risk Development in Young Adults) study. Steps-taken-per-day were described as “low” (less than 7000), “moderate” (7000-9999) and “high” (more than 10,000). Stepping intensity – stepping rate – played a role, too. Moderate/high step rate was associated with a reduced risk of mortality in black and white women and men in middle-age who walked 7000 steps or more a day compared with those who took less. (2) Old Mill Chiropractic witnesses how walking helps – 7000 steps or not – and urges St Peters chiropractic patients to walk what they can. Any walk works!
EXERCISE HELPS COPING WITH PAIN
How do most St Peters back pain patients cope with chronic low back pain? Some of the things people may say or feel are these:
